Blue Horizon Telecom’s electromagnetic airport control & survey software modules include basic coverage for the calculation and analysis of radio propagation and coverage of aeronautical navigation aids including radars. The calculations are based, amongst other things, on the antenna and transmission characteristics and on the terrain and obstruction environment. Using the Multi-coverage add, it can evaluate redundancy areas in a configuration of navaids and simulate possible faults of the sensors involved.
EMI for evaluating mutual interference among different CNS equipment in the airport scenario considers the fundamental antenna radiation and the actual environment (terrain plus artificial buildings).
