The origins of the Gatic business go back to a foundry in Dover which started trading in 1858. The company was renamed The Dover Engineering Works Ltd in 1902 and then Gatic, when acquired by The Alumasc Group in 1991.
Today the company has UK manufacturing operations in Dover and Halstead as well as a partner in China.
