Engie Launches Energy Efficiency Project at Riyadh’s King Khalid Airport

Ryadh Airports Company (RAC), along with the global leader in low-carbon energy and services, Engie has launched the Energy Efficiency Project at KKIA, according to media reports. The project will help identify and develop cost-effective and smart-energy measures, along with clean energy sources.

The clean energy project covers all passenger terminals including the private aviation terminals, the Airport’s industrial zone, support facilities, water transfer and treatment plants, substations, airfields, and district cooling plants. The French energy group will perform an energy audit and consultancy work which will help them identify and develop multiple energy-efficient measures that will reduce the facility’s energy consumption, cost, operation, and maintenance.

This project comes as a part of RAC’s efforts to enhance energy efficiency at KKIA as per the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).
